The University of Illinois at Chicago is an open research university which was established in 1982. It is known to operate the largest medical school in the United States and is associated with the Universities Research Association and Great Cities Universities. UIC comprises of three campuses and is home to about 29,000 students and 25,000 faculty members. These campuses cover a wide area of University Village and Little Italy in Chicago.
